Becki Fielding with her BBC Make a Difference Award

Lancashire farmer and NFU Lancashire County Chair Becki Fielding has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to farming and rural communities by winning a BBC Radio Lancashire ‘Make A Difference Award.’

Becki, who farms near Blackburn, won the Fundraiser of the Year Award for her tireless commitment to Lancashire farming, her work promoting British food and agriculture, and her dedication to fundraising, in particular for organising the NFU Harvest Ball in aid of the North West Air Ambulance for the last two years. She was nominated for the award by members of the public.

Her efforts have helped raise vital funds for the charity, which provides a lifesaving service across Lancashire and the wider region, including many farming and rural communities where rapid response can be crucial.

Becki said: “I'm incredibly honoured to receive this award.  I didn’t think I would win as there are so many remarkable people doing great things.

“I just like supporting charities and my local community. You never know when you, a family member, or friend may need an Air Ambulance, and it is a fantastic charity to support.

“Lancashire farmers work hard every day producing high-quality food, caring for the countryside and supporting local communities.

“I've always believed in giving something back, whether that's supporting farming, promoting British food or helping raise money for charities like the North West Air Ambulance that provide such an essential service to rural areas.”

Mrs Fielding who helps to run Pulford Farm Dairies alongside her family, is a passionate advocate for agriculture and has become a respected voice for farming across Lancashire.

Alongside running her family farm, she has devoted countless hours representing local farmers, championing the importance of home-grown food production and helping the public better understand the role farmers play in producing food, caring for the environment and supporting rural economies.

NFU North Regional Director David Hall said: “This award is thoroughly deserved. Becki is an outstanding ambassador for Lancashire farming and a passionate advocate for British agriculture.

“She continually goes above and beyond to support fellow farmers, engage with the public and champion the importance of food production.

“Her commitment doesn't stop there, and her fundraising efforts for the North West Air Ambulance demonstrate the positive contribution she makes to communities right across Lancashire.

“Becki is a fantastic example of the positive impact farmers have beyond the farm gate, supporting local communities while producing high-quality British food and caring for the countryside.”

The BBC ‘Make a Difference Award’ recognises not only her dedication to agriculture but also her commitment to supporting the wider community, highlighting the important role farmers play both on and off the farm.
