Nominations are now open for the autumn Sugar Board elections – find out how to apply before the application window closes at 5pm on Thursday 22 October.

The NFU Sugar Board is the democratically-elected representative body of UK sugar beet growers, elected by growers, for growers.

It exists to represent and promote growers’ best interests and work with NFU Sugar staff members.

Led by its elected chair, Kit Papworth, it determines the strategic direction of NFU Sugar.

Who can stand for election?

All current sugar beet growers are eligible to stand for election to the board – they don’t need to be a member of the NFU.

What does the role involve?

Board members will have the chance to influence NFU Sugar’s strategic direction in relation to negotiation, seed, the BBRO, Red Tractor, policy and more.

They can also expect to benefit from professional development opportunities such as visits to conferences, events, trials, and workshops.

How does the process work?

Candidates standing for election must be nominated by at least five growers.

Completed nomination forms must be scanned and emailed to [email protected] before 5pm on Thursday 22 October.
